WTF did I break?

Questions about axles, transmissions, differentials, pretty much anything that connects the engine to the wheels, this is the place for those questions.

WTF did I break?

Post by Canada » Tue Jul 19, 2011 10:27 pm

As some of you know, I was racing on the weekend and think I broke something.

Unit:
T350 / Quaife / FX700 twin disc

Symptoms:
Fluid. Everywhere but in the transmission.

Checked:
Opposite wheels spins reverse of wheel I spin when jacked up
Both axles firmly into trans housing
no visible cracks in housing
Fluid dripping from inside bellhousing
Car turns both front wheels forwards when jacked up and in gear and running

Thoughts?
Cracked case inside bellhousing?

Going to be pulling the motor and trans by end of week hopefully, but would love some insight...

Maybe blew a seal at the input shaft.

:withstupid:

My thoughts too. I couldn't tell much from the video, but I didn't have the volume up super loud either.

Edit:

For future reference, don't let sexy seals ride with you when racing.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.

And to think all this time I though you had a T850 in that car.....
What are the chances you had the trani overfilled and it blew fluid out the breather tube?

I think he said there was crunchy noises too, which would indicate some kind of problem.

If it is only coming from the bellhousing area, IDK if that would be it.

But it is a good possibility, if it got hot enough.
