LED 3rd Brake light w/turns RED or WHITE

Post by eVilcreations » Mon Jan 02, 2006 12:15 am

Ok kids...the final design is done, as well as the prototype. Pictures and Videos of it installed can be found here:

http://www.xtremeracingandsound.com/images/3rd/

Image

The kit includes 1 printed circuit board with the led's, resistors, and power leads already assembled onto the board, includes ez splice connectors to make installation a snap, zip ties to keep the wiring clean, and includes full install instructions with color photos

This kit is designed to sit inside of your oem or aftermarket 3rd brake light housing, and uses signal from your third brake and turn signal wiring. Here's how it works. When you hit the brakes, the whole unit lights up like normal, when you put on a turn signal, that section of the unit blinks like a normal turn signal and the rest lights up(assuming your hitting the brakes).

If you are wanting a SOLID lit 3rd brake light, this can be used the same way, just don't wire the turn signals, and it will just come on(the whole thing) with your brakes.

Both units are going for $45 shipped.

paypal is groupbuys@teamnitehawk.com

Again, the kits include:
1 Printed/Assembled PCB
10ft lead wires for turn signals
1ft lead wires for center brake section
Full color instructions
10 zipties for wire cleanup
6 ez splice connectors

Each Group Buy will require 20 purchases for this pricing

You'll have to wait until Josh gets back... he's in the AirForce and has been sent out for two weeks. He'll get back to you when he returns.

No problem, I just wanted to know what's going on with these, and the time frame.

You answered both of my questions, thanks.

Sorry folks, last red brake light has been sold. If anyone is still interested in them, I'm going to be posting another group buy in a couple weeks, we'll go for a 20 unit run, ordering at 10 presold.

I still have 7 White units left though...

I do have a quick question, can I spray paint the circuit board?

I would cover up the LED's, but can I just spray over the resistors?

yeah, thats not a problem at all, just make sure those led's are protected...

anything long with a 3mm hole in the end of it will be a perfect fit, i'de suggest a thin straw...

In this step, you will have to carefully pry between the housing and the lens to release the tabs on the lens that are locked into the housing. Be careful not to snap them. If you do, it’s ok, as long as you have the outer most two tabs in tact. Aftermarket clear third brake lights only have the outer tabs and do not have the center tab .
So basically if you break any on the clear one you are screwed?

How did you "pry" them out? More details please. I am stuck on that step. :/

Edit* Where do you pry? Do you push down on the tabs? Which way do you push or pull them? I feel like I can't get them off without breaking them.
