Undercoated Vehicle's

Post by DodgeEvo » Mon Jul 25, 2011 7:18 pm

Not sure really where to put this post. Its off topic, but yet it has to do with exterior of vehicles. I saw a truck and suv done in it and it looked pretty cool/alright. That would be doing the exterior of a vehicle in an undercoat material. I figured I would put a post up on it to see what people think, so feel free to comment on what you think. I have thought about doing my vehcile time to time, but don't listen to me. Lol :tardbang:

Do you mean something like roll-on bed liner, such as Herculiner?

I used it on the underside of my rockers and pinch welds. It has held up pretty well for the last 7 years. It is not visible from the side, except the pinch welds. I did it more for stone protection for the rockers than looks, but the pinch welds being black on a silver car give it a little cleaner look.

FYI: This stuff has a pretty rough texture, and it is not soft.

Edit: You could coat the entire car, if you are going for the Mini Me Urban Assault Vehicle look.

Don't do it.

You wouldn't want to do an entire vehicle in the Ziebart undercoating that my car has. YUCK! :pukeright:

Yeah, not a good idea for undercoating.. That's generally a tar like substance..

You mean bed liner.

My boss's bronco has it. The darker color is bedliner/undercoating and the lighter color is paint. It looks sweet.

Seen a dodge ram 1500 lifted prolly 6" with the whole truck covered with the bedliner and it actually looked super bada$$. Really looked like it should had a 50 caliber mounted on top of it but it really looked good. Always thought bout doing the underbody of the neon for a little protection and just a cleaner look but would be some work to do it right.

I saw the truck and suv and ya it was bedliner that you buy and roll on and they looked pretty good. Far away it looked like flat/semi black, but when you got closer you could tell it was bedliner. Not a alot of people do the whole vehicle, so I thought I would do a post on it and see what people think. Keep the comments coming.
