This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Ambiguous post. I guess shove bubble gum, duct tape, and tip ties at it.

P0508 is Idle Air Control Circuit Low. Which means the Idle Air Control Circuit input is below acceptable limits.

If the Technicians have tested the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve, the wiring between the IAC and the PCM and made sure the IAC passages in the throttle body are clean, then yes, the PCM probably needs to be replaced.

do you have access to another PCM to try in the place of yours to confirm wether the fault is with the PCM or not before investing in a new one ?

I replaced mine (IAC) and it fixed the problem. (But I was lucky at the time, and got a brand new one from a surplus dealer on ebay for $10)

You could also drill and tap the end of the old IAC and put a screw in to open the plunger to get a decent idle. Or adjust the throttle open a little. This prolly won't get rid of the CEL tho.
