A/C not switching on

Post by mutant littleman » Wed Aug 17, 2011 7:47 am

Hey all, so just got my RT yesterday and the A/C is not switching on, apparently he said its fully charged and not leaking. I looked and can't see that any connectors are loose or off.
What else could cause it to not cycle? My 1gn has it removed so can't compare on it.

Any help is appreciated Thanks

Bad high pressure switch, a bad low pressure switch, or they lied. Those would be the most obvious reasons. A bad compressor clutch/coil or relay could be other reasons. The HVAC switch may also be bad. But that is not a common problem at all AFAIK.

With the engine off, can you turn the center pulley part of the compressor? It should move with a little effort.

Got it fixed, turned out the fuse although not blown had corroded off and thus not let the AC switch on.

Probably why they weren't sure since a quick look at the fuse showed it ok.

Thanks for the quick reply though
