There is no clip that goes there. The bushings wore out.

Since the dealer does not offer the bushings seperately, you need to get some Booger Bushings. Jeff B makes and sells them.

You should have done this already. Just sayin

I figured I'd throw the direct buisness Jeff's way, but yes, MPx is another source

Yes. Just pull the black one out, and install the (color of your choice) bushing into the white and black yokes. Then push down until it snaps into place.

If you think it shifted great before, wait till you put a set of these in. Booger Bushings are one of the upgrades every MTX neon should have.

What kind of shifter is that? It's not a stock lever. eBay Chinese thing? I can't stand those poorly made things.
The one that is under the shifter looks like it has a steel pin that is made too long. It will probably be just fine like that as long as it doesn't pop off on it's own. The stock shifter lever has that bushing pointing to the "outside" of the shifter body.

I wish these aftermarket companies would stop trying to reinvent the wheel for things like that, it's wrong. If you have problems with that bushing later, send me an email and reference this post so I can be reminded.

I wanna be informed before I go there

btw, I managed to find the screws for removing the centre console and find the other bushings, but didn't replace the bushings as they were still in good condition

The ones on the shifter do make a small difference even with good OEM bushings. The only slack I have now, is the worn shift selector bushings in the transmission.
