Why does this happen?

What causes this? I know how to fix it but will it happen again just as randomly as it did?

This is the Multifunction harness thingy on the steering column just so you know...

running too high of watt bulbs in either the fog lights or headlights is a well known cause

I have H.I.Ds, is there any way to prevent this?

all i know is that i'm glad you found this so you can fix it before your
car starts on fire.. you wouldn't be the first to have a dash fire lol..

Search for my how-to wire up hid relay harness. Multiswitch connector is junk.
