Media support help for the PowerAcoustic PTID-8310

Post by SinfulNeon » Thu Sep 22, 2011 2:39 pm

Here is a link to the unit
http://www.poweracoustik.com/pa2011/sou ... -83xx.html

has anyone owned or used this? or its other named competition versions which are the same?

It states that it support MP4 and DIVX playback and I have tried numerous codec configuration and have yet to find a supported video format. Lol their tech support is no help either as they said they have not found a combination that works and since its built by a third party and then these companies slap their name on it, finding the original maker is tough or else I would ask them for the exact code and configuration used for encoding supported media.

So Im reaching out to the community to see what they can find out or if they have used this stereo before.

Thanks.

Edit: a few suggested making a VCD or DVD of the media and that would work but the idea is to load these movies up onto a USB flash drive or onto an SD card so thats why Im trying to figure out the supported formats... hmmm I wonder if I copied the contents of a VCD to an SD card if it would still work, not as easy of a solution as I would like but might be a possibility.

hmm well I have thought of an alternative solution, I have a Patriot Box Office media steamer/player and I have a 750gb 2.5" HDD installed, this player has composite out so the plan is to hook that up to the input of the stereo and then install the box office some where in my car and let is handle the various video formats until I can figure out what the stereo uses. :)

Alright so I was successful in hooking up my Patriot Box Office to my car stereo so I may ultimately just use that as it supports nearly every format. I will post a picture later :)
