Cold Air Intake Mount?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Cold Air Intake Mount?

Post by mrsixstrings12 » Mon Sep 26, 2011 7:46 pm

So i installed a Bomz Racing intake and it works pretty good! Sounds good, got rid of my CEL (somehow haha) but anyways, it came with these 2 metal tabs. The instructions didnt say anything about these tabs and the entire intake is just kinda floating in there. I attempted to use the one tab to attach the throttle body to a bolt to keep it up (i assume this is what the tabs are for) but its weak and just bent right back to where it was sitting. So for all of you with CAI, is yours just floating around or is your throttle body attached to something?

cold air intake mount?

I had 2 tabs with my cai. One I attached to a bolt thru the tab of the driverside top radiator mount bracket and one fo the bolt holes in the throttlebody where it attached to the stock airbox. The other went on a bolt where the stock airbox was and I used a wormgear clamp to secure the cai to that. Not the most neat installation, but effective.
