Light in the trunk?

Post by gcretro » Mon Sep 26, 2011 10:41 pm

04 Neon SE,

Is there a way to add a light in the trunk? What do I need?

Was it an option in any of the neon trims?

thx

If there is not a wire going to the latch, you will need to run one through the deck lid harness to the light mounting hole in the center between the speakers. (or where ever you choose to put a light) This will be the switched ground to turn it on. All latches should have the slide tab for the connector.

Then you need to locate the pink wire. This is the 12v+ feed. It is the same as the dome light. There should be a splice (S309) near the left rear seat back.

this was brought up before too . I also have an SE model, and have yet to find this "pink" wire..

looking for a how-to style pic, as to where this wire is... and how much tearing apart of the rear deck and rear seat to get to it (?)

Looks like it is underneath the back of the rear seat/support. Need a large torx bit for that.

Or it may be on the trunk side, under the liner. If I get a chance (remember) tomorrow, I'll take a look...

There's another spot, though, it is just below the one already posted. Those speaker wires should be right around the cargo light hole though, according to the pics?

At least the lower spot would be more accessible. The sheet I posted is from the '04 FSM. Possibly yours is from '00 to '02?

Mines the '04 one as well (for '03-'05). That second pic is figure 53-ish. First is figure 27.
