Post by DodgeEvo » Wed Sep 28, 2011 1:15 pm

I was wondering if anybody here had an Flowmaster 80 series or super 44 on there neon that has the 2.0L engine in it, instead of the 2.4. Also if anybody has an video clip of it on the car being reved or driven. Thanks

I got it off of E-bay for 105 after it was all done. That was for muffler alone.

I have the camaro magnaflow on mine and love it. Just enough growl to say it isn't stock and yet not sound like a fart cannon.

This.

Tho if I had my camera yesterday, I would have had pics of the ultimate in exhausts!

A Cavalier, with dual 5" chrome stacks through the deck lid, with the factory spoiler cut out to accommodate them.

It still sounded like a ricer.

Plus it had a huge receiver bolted on, complete with hitch balls for towing, maybe a lawn mower?

Edit: Yes the stacks were functional, or dysfunktional whichever way you want to see it.

Seems to me the camaro muffler is the way to go if you don't want to sound farty.

It was hilarious. The guy acted like he was the shit, which made it even funnier. Dude was tailgating traffic in front of him, and giving it hell as much as possible. I could see him watching me in his mirror. I think he crapped when I goosed it, and slid sideways at 45 mph. (It was wet) About all he could do is make more noise.

Ahh, cheap entertainment....

camaro muffler is a popular option, flowmasters equivelant as well. i recommend the flowmaster "delta flow" line, its same sound as the regular ones, but less drone/cabin noise.. loud outside, quiet inside. love mine..

Anybody have the part number for the mangaflow muffler and any picks. BTW I need a cat also. Went to do the work and the cat basic just droped(I know it was going) when I disconnected the pipe. Here is the story. I could get an inspection sticker yesterday cuz everbody was saying it was to loud and you need to have a muffler on it. Well I ways had exhaust system were it had the glasspack and can on the end. Well my mom was like its because your young and I will take it and get one. Well she went and the guy said its all illegal, wont pass. He said that I could make it alittle quiter than he would pass it. Here is the thing about the cat, he finished it off after revving the car about 3 to 4 times in the garage probly. I told my mom that he was lieing and now I have to get an new cat. He played the story about me trying to make it quiter and then he will pass it knowing that as soon as I disconnected the pipe the cat would drop and have to be replaced. Basicly hopping that I cant do the work on my car and he would be able to do it. So he would be getting paid to do new cat, and full exhaust. I am pissed.

If all it took was revving to finish off the cat, it was going to be done at the first pothole you hit anyways.

Just get a direct fit cat, and build your exhaust from there. You won't need any welding, special equipment etc.

You can't prove a thing against him, so it is what it is. Fix it yourself, and move on...

Ya I guess your right, just pissed because you put the time into it and its like if it comes around and bites you in the ass every once in awhile. I have pacesetter headers, so would and oem replacement from mangaflow work by any chance.

Is the header flange 4 bolt or the 1gn style two bolt, with the springs and donut gasket?

The 4 bolt will direct fit will work with the Magnaflow, or any direct fit '00 and up cat.

The magnaflow direct fit isn't any better than the others tho.

Then you will have to have a universal cat welded to a two bolt flange to make it work. But the plus to this, is you can use a cat with a better matched inlet to the header outlet.

Or possibly a 1gn cat may work with a 2gn midpipe?
