Car

Ever.

Seriously I had bugs growing underneath the seats.

It took my girlfriend and I 14 hours to clean the cabin.

And it still wasn't clean enough so I junked the interior, minus the front seats.

Sprayed it down with 409 and a hose.

But it's still
The genius I bought it from had the rad fans hooked up to a switch, which was burnt out and melted part of the dash.

Not to mention a million feet of wire going everywhere connected to nothing (quart of oil for size comparison)

On top of that, everything was hobbled together.

Engine bay:

Total price: $1,189 after tax.
$600 later and it's in better shape, but still a piece of shit.
What's wrong with it:
The flywheel is missing some teeth, so sometimes I have to crawl under the car and move it with a screwdriver or something so the starter can engage it.
Bad valve seals or rings, I don't get enough compression to start the car, which also facilitates me cranking the car over until forever. Sometimes I give up and as luck would have it, I land on a dead spot on the flywheel.
The alternator is too far behind the motor, making the belt rub.
The exhaust manifold is cracked, but I guess that's common.
I have nails holding pieces of the car together, as shown above (they're actually on both sides).
Missing some or one synchro clip for 3rd
Everything rattles
The suspension needs work, probably new everything all around
As well as looking like it was buried with the windows rolled down (only way I can figure it got so dirty), the right rear was left submerged in water, which is why everything on that side (including the fuel filler neck) is rusted to shit.
It's a Neon.
I'm assuming everything the guy told me he did to fix the car is actually stuff that needs fixed on the car. This includes timing belt and water pump, tie rod ends, struts (I think the front two are new but the top hats are well beyond gone)
It's got a 3.55 trans in it. Instead of using bushings he took some washers and nuts and welded them onto the shifter posts.
Also I need a ball joint and an inner tie rod end but those go hand-in-hand with the suspension.
I think the tires on the rear are original and they're starting to crack. (tires on the front are brand new)
It still smells inside.
The tail lights leak. I ended up going to the junk yard a little while after I bought it and found a couple factory tails in good condition that I'm rocking now, but I still have a pool in my spare tire well, which flows up to the backseat floorboards when I brake.
There's a hole in the floor in the back seat, I guess where someone tried to open a drain plug or something and it needs welded shut.
The guy also drilled holes in the front floorboards to mount.... something electrical. I'm thinking it was for the alarm system.
Needs an alignment and crash bolts.
The sunroof is broken beyond repair, one of the clips that holds the lifting mechanism together broke and now that corner rises up at high speeds and in the wind. Not enough where it's gonna fly off, but enough that it makes noise and I have to keep the sun shade closed.
The windows need adjusted. I tried adjusting the one but I think it needs new weatherstripping too.
The spring for the accelerator pedal is broken.
The cigarette lighter/power doo-dad receptacle thing is loose.
The seats are hella uncomfortable.
The exhaust has lots of holes in it and sounds like a honda
There's a few electrical shorts or frayed wires in the car that I've gotta track down and replace
The driver's door is riveted together.
The retards painted it but didn't bother prepping the car or finishing it properly, so there's rust with paint on it.
They painted over the skunk stripes.
The spoiler leaked and the bolts were rusted to the nuts so the spoiler came off but not the bolts. Those got siliconed until I can go to the JY and get a new decklid.
Now for the good:
The right side front has Prothane bushings.
I own it, and will fix it up and treat it right. Like I said I've spent about $600 so far in repairs, probably more than that. I will rebuild it. I have the technology.
