srt mid pipe with rear section on 2L

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

srt mid pipe with rear section on 2L

Post by xbrandonx » Tue Oct 04, 2011 2:49 pm

rightnow i am running just the srt rear section of the exhaust with no resonator in te mid pipe, im going to pick up a srt mid pipe with the stock 2 resonators will this make a big difference in sound (im assuming yes and slightly quieter/take out most of the droning) i just want to make sure im not buying it for nothing

Basically, yes you would be buying it for... not much.

You would be better off with a resonator from an exhaust shop, with a glasspack, or other. There isn't much to truly make it sound good. But that is just my humble opinion. If you want the dual look, with a good sound, go with an R/T style exhaust. Otherwise, there just isn't enough space/length to shape the sound with the SRT cat back. Unless you put a turbo in there to break up the sound waves...

An SRT rear section is actually louder than a single exit with the same glasspack.

The two outlets let more sound escape than one. Don't believe me, cap one side off. ;)
