On the front brakes, I was wondering if this is over kill specialty for an daily driver.

For your car, yes. For someone who tracks their car regularly or needs a lot of stopping power behind their 'go fast' mods, no.

You'd spend $1,800 in front brakes alone?

Do a SRT or PT front and rear brake swap and call it good if you want better braking.

That would be a turbo PT (GT Cruiser) the regular PT brakes are not an upgrade.

regular pt brakes are 11" brakes and are an upgrade over stock 10" neon brakes.

Interesting. A while back I was looking into it, and the info was a bit different.

I stand corrected.

Interesting. Gonna have to snatch some up at the junk yard next time. Just looked on rock auto and sure enough the piston bore is larger on the pt caliper.

Rotor: 11.025"

Neon

Ideally, you need some 02+ manual PT knuckle.

02+ for the bigger wheel bearings and manual to have the tie-rod hole more on the outside to you can get it aligned correctly VS PTGT/SRT knuckles.

From there you can use regular PT calipers with regular PT disks and your choice of PT/PTGT/SRT pads.

Or PTGT/SRT calipers with the PTGT/SRT disks and pads

Or any BBK for the SRT.

It would be nice, but I am thinking its going to be to much. I think the smallest size they have is 11inch, if not its 12inch. for the rotors

I think that is about an inch or so larger than what the SRT brakes are. Stopping power is almost as fun as going power... almost.

so.. you would rather buy these ridiculously over sized, unnecessary
brakes to stop your 2.0 engine, instead of buying brand new coil
overs to make your car look some what decent with that body kit you
already have?

No, I rather use that money for turbo or coilovers.

you've gotta stop what you move, so if you go with turbo and coils you still want to consider stopping power. Does that mean buying brakes that cost 2k.... no Wilwoods are very affordable, very lightweight and pretty damn good.
