Under what conditions? Fires? Um you learn in grade 12 chemistry that no fire can cause steel to melt(melting point of steel = 1100° F). The only known method of melting steel is by using thermite, which chemically turns it into iron, therefore making it structurally unstable.

Just because I'm 19 doesn't mean I don't have logic and haven't gone to school.

Anyways I know this is going to turn into a flame war so thats all I'm gonna say <3 love you all

You don't need steel to melt for something bad to happen. Steel will no longer be able to hold a load at 900 degrees. A basic house fire can reach degrees well above 900. Flashover in a house fire can happen around 1100 degrees, EVERYTHING in the room is on fire at one time.

thats the key thing right there, the steel didn't melt. it got soft from the high heat, and started to bend.. then after that it was game over.

Melting point of steel is ~2700 F. Steel however weakens a lot at temperatures of ~950 F which a normal fire can easily reach.

Welding is also melting of steel and can be achieved with a blown flame. Same as cutting with a blowtorch.

thermite doesn't make steel turn into iron but simply melts it due to the intense heat coming from the reaction between a metal oxide (most often used: iron, but also applicable with titanium- or copperoxide) and aluminum turning into the used metal and aluminumoxide.

dont get me wrong im all for questioning what people tell you and making your own opinion but i hate this topic mabe it was 100% goverment orchestration we wont ever know. I have thought this through so many times and my only conclusion is people died that day heros died and 2 planes crashing made an entire nation go silent in utter aw. We wont ever know the truth i have serious doubts someone will come out and say "this is exactly what happened" and to be honost would we really believe it ?
