Swapping out my front crossmember...big problems happened :(

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

This was a control arm bushing problem for me. It was BAD when I finally got under there. If I let off the gas in a long sweeping curve, I had better be holding on!!

Dodge redid the crossmember in the 2004MY Neons and made a sealed version (allegidly). I have yet to confirm this but I will be needing to get one sooner than later because mine is terribly rusted and needs to be replaced.

They changed them, but they aren't what I would call sealed. They still rust. I believe they are rusted before they paint them. I bought one new, put 5 coats of rusty metal primer, and 5 coats of paint over that. Soaked it inside and out. It is still rusting through the paint.

The newer cars are not any better. My mom's '07 Caliber's crossmember is beginning to rust badly. Everything else under the car is still new looking. Granted it has 85,000 on it, but compared to the rest of the car, it is in sad shape.
