Road Salt
Hey guys my wife and I moved up to South Dakota this summer from Oklahoma, down there we didnt have to worry about salting the roads like they do up here. Does anyone have any tips/tricks to stop the salt from giving the car cancer?

Move back.
Wash it every chance you get.
There is only so much you can do, it is going to get into places you just can't clean out on a regular basis. They use brine here in Ohio, which is worse, as it just seeps in with the melted snow.
Get some LPS 3 (sort of like cosmoline) and remove the door panels and coat the insides. Spray it any where you can, like the inside of the deck lid, hood, etc. You want to get it into all the tight seams, folded parts.
If it hasn't begun to rust inside there, it will last for years. The rear hatch on my Jeep is proof. It says good for 2 years, but I have had much better durability, prolly due to the surfaces being painted already. You could spray it on the outside, but it is a royal PITA to clean off, once it sets up.
Yes it is pricey, but it does work.
If you don't see it at your local hardware...

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

I wire brushed my brake/fuel lines, tank straps, pinch welds, and a few other random things underneath and sprayed them with black paint. Doing that at the end of every summer will delay the rusting alot.

I've gotten my 96 oil sprayed since I owned it and whoever had it before me did the same and its very very clean my 04 rt also has been given the treatment since before I owned it.
If you can find someone that does dripless oil spraying its a good investment also make sure they remove the door plugs and spray inside there.
