Sure, it is a captive import sold by Chrysler Group in Mexico. Just like when Chrysler used to import Mitsubishi cars in the 70's that were badged here in the US as Dodges and Plymouths.

I'd rather have a Hyundai Accent than a Dodge Caliber or a Fiat 500.

Chrysler is prolly licensed by Hyundai to sell them, as Hyundai may not have export rights into Mexico. I know to sell cars in Bolivia years ago, everything was sold as a Chevy. It's all politics, and who pays the bribes.

I actually saw one of those the other day with mexico plates on it. I was like wtf is this and took a picture. Apparently I wasn't impressed, because I deleted it from my phone.

Gramps point is it is not 100% badged as a Hyundai, he isn't saying they are not Hyundai vehicles.

So Chrysler is selling Hyundai's in mexico. What's so difficult to comprehend here? Cars sold, are cars sold. Hyundai is still happy, even if Chrysler gets a little money from it.

I don't understand why they would have a Hyundai emblem.....then have it say D O D G E right next to it. Everybody knows the Dodge symbol is the ram head. I think this car is having identity issues.

That is all I'm saying. I'm not sure how anyone thinks that I or anyone who posted does not get it. I get the concept, its just asinine. Even Chrysler got the memo on how dumb this idea is, they got rid of Plymouth (ctrl C, ctrl V) years ago.

To them it is about making $, bottom line. If both companies benefit, they could care what we think.

Hyundai sells cars in Mexico, and Chrysler makes a buck or two from it. I'm sure they don't see it as "just asinine" they see it as "profitable".

Actually, the RAM head is supposed to be the logo for RAM truck
division and is going to be dropped from the car divisions... so I
read a few months back.

Fiat/Chrysler doesn't make a decent car in that range ... it's more like the "Dodge" Colts during the 70's and 80's.
Mitsubishi and Chrysler both benefitted from that arrangement.

I remember the Mitsu small pickup they had back then.

The one with the seams running along the lower edge
of the bed where rust would take over.

I tried one of those puppies out in the manual 4x4 version.
It was hoot to drive but perhaps less so on the functional
side that the full size Dodge pickup I went with instead.

One of the early Dodge Caravans I had came with the 2.6L
4 cycl Mitsu engine that seemingly just ran and ran without
issue.

It is now, yes. Dodge has been using the Ram head as their emblem since 1993 or 1994 though for their whole line up. Ram is now a "Brand" of its own, within the Chrysler LLC business. I work for a dealership who sells Dodge Chrysler Jeep products, and I just noticed we recently added "RAM" to the decoration of brands we sell, on our Sales Receipts.
