MPx High Strength Motor Mount Bolt Kit

Post by Alex Kurdian » Sat Nov 05, 2011 9:06 am

Hi guys
While I am changing a whole bunch a parts when I do my timing belt ...I am replacing my mounts as well cause they are quite worn...Modern Performance sell them as well as these...is it worth getting these bolts?? Cost isn't a problem...and are the original bolts easy to remove??

Original bolts are easy to remove, but I would just reuse them. Stock bolts will work for anything short of a drag car.

yeah they are good. i had them on my RT before it died. you just gotta remember to bolt them down good and double check them after driving some miles. i had some come loose on me because it vibrated too much since i had solid mounts. i believe i still have my old set if you want i can check and sell em to you for $20 + shipping. im pretty sure itll cost you alot on shipping if you order it from MP. just saying.

yes they are worth it. i bought em to just have a piece of mind that my bolts would hold up, but the stock ones wont break or shouldnt break if thats your concern.

I know this post was for the motor mount bolts originally but I am looking to buy the actually motor mounts. I have 02' SXT automatic with about 60k miles on it, and a turbo build. I noticed that they are starting to crack so it's time to replace. Should I go with OEM motor mounts? Or are these better http://www.modernperformance.com/solid- ... -1130.html ? I've read that they help put power to the wheels (i may be miss using that term), and increase noise an vibration. I have also read the reviews and people claim that the noise and vibration goes away once they "break in", is this "break in" kinda counter productive to a solid motor mount, or is that normal?

For a turbo application, I would go with the dogbones.
