Public Disturbance Project Log

Post by Public Disturbance » Sun Nov 06, 2011 5:57 pm

Ok guys now bear with me for now all the pics are done with my cell phone so not the best quality for now but it does the job now remember this is my dd so it gets dirty and has signs of ware and tear but here is a few to get started with.
Image

Image
Dont mind the stroller and you can see the back drivers door where a kid ran a go kart into me and insurance gave me a big :thefinger: but otherwise got the flip flop trunk mod done with hood pins in the back bolt holes to stop trunk from having a gap in the back when closed.

Image
Lame interior shot all I have to find to finish the black/slate grey in the front door panels I have the main part of the dash just havent had time to get it in wasnt too bad pulling the black one out so I will probally do a how to or something when I do it.

Image
Shows my red and silver Public Disturbance logo. Public Disturbance is the name of the audio company Im working on opening just looking for a physical location have everything but that.

Image
Picked up a silver HVAC piece out of the same one Neon I got the main dash part out of painted the knob inserts red and ordered a new overlay from blackcatcustoms.com for like 20 bucks that didnt have the blue tint I have 4mm red leds in place of the stock lights and added some extra leds also in red.

Image
Red leds under the dash have them on both sides dont mind the mess like I said its my dd and I was working on tucking some wiring and tubing today.

Image

MPx Shorty Antanna

So go ahead tell me what you guys think I just got done painting the valve cover(stock plastic)red and doing some tucking and clean up under the hood it was getting too dark for pics. Iam looking for a Magnum VC that I can cut and make about a inch taller for enough clearance for the crane 20 I have sitting in storage. More to come on that at a later time.

EDIT: Just so you guys know this is by no means a fast paced build just doing a little here and a little there as I can, thought it would be cool to have this so when its all said and done I can look back at it and see the time span it progressed.

I thought you were going 2.2 stroker with a dohc head?

I say do a 2.4 DOHC swap. If you do an SRT swap it'd be great to be able to use the SRT trans, since it will hold up to high HP levels more.

Unless you go to a built ATX.

I'm not 100% on drive train the only way I would do a srt swap is if I find a whole car that way I have a lot of the stuff I'm wanting like my rear breaks, cluster, and like you said the th850 so find me a donar car and I will lol

Yeah I have my rear door panels in but still looking for fronts finally found a dash but need to get it in need a day off that's warmer then 25 lol. Anyways got my double din in and the hvac surround fitted for it ordered some carbon fiber to wrap it. Also got my blue LEDs in my cluster needed to ask you how you got your odometer blue D-Railed?
Image
Don't know why everyone had problems with blue LEDs being too dark I love mine

Image
Double din a shows the blue HVAC LEDs still working on the control cover and still need to pull my red under dash lights and get blue ones once I get the hvac wrapped in carbon fiber I will take a day time pic

Also got bored and made some random stickers, stole this idea from another member but I like it

Ok so here is the double din in the day not the prettiest thing but I ordered some carbon fiber fabric to wrap it not the do noc stuff the real deal
Image
Then tonight I got the itch to do something so I came up with the idea to mold in a gauge pod in one side of the heater vent here it is need to pic up some body filler to fill it in better and smooth everything out before I wrap it
Image

Also ordered the stuff to change the blue lighting to red idk the blue just isn't me

Ok so my red LEDs came in from superbrightleds.com and all I can say is I'm less then pleased with the customer service this go around. I ordered 3 even says it on the invoice 3 4mm red LEDs for the hvac and they only shipped 2, I think ok well I will call them in the morning then I go to put in the gauge cluster 5 led wide angle LEDs and I get two in the third one I go to install had no LEDs on it it's just a empty plastic shell again no big deal I was just going to call them. So I called them on my way to work today and this is what I got "Sir we wouldn't make mistakes like that" followed by a big CLICK so now I have to order more stuff from them to finish my red lighting. Anyways what I did get in looks good it is a little dark but it's only because of the blue/green film on the cluster stock next thing that I'm going to order is a custom gauge face and hvac from blackcatcustoms.com in blaze red with silver numbering with a red film to make it brighter. Still not too happy with superbrightleds though

Ok so I cleaned the engine bay a little and put my stock air box back on before we get any more snow just as a precaution never realized how bad I need to shorten my 0 ga grounds though the ones on the pass. side are only 4 ga and they look fine by the ones on the battery are 0 ga and they have way too much slack
Image
Also what is the best way to loop the power steering when I take the pump out this driving with the pump in line sucks

Yep thinking I will have to bring the wife drive out and get a smaller U-Haul to come back with or do install there and trash my stock stuff since its not really in the best shape

Don't like the rims and I think tinting the windshield is extremely dangerous.

Where do you live that you think you can get away with that tint?

I'll admit, I love the mono-black look, but I'm sure the cops won't. And like Jerry said, not feeling the wheels. They just don't flow with the car.

Drop it, get some cleaner wheels, and you will be set. Good luck with the tint.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

In South Dakota the tint law is 15% in the back 20% in the front will a 11% leeway so the back I can get away with and cop dont really mess with tint or vinyls here because they have to have a tint meter in order to issue a ticket and my next door neighbor is a highway patrol officer and he said that he called for a officer with a tint meter and there were only 2 in the state and they were both in Souix Falls which is 6 hours away from Rapid I mean if I get hassled for it Im not going to argue and be a dick with the officer but until then Im going to rock it.

With the wheel I cant get a good shot of them. They look a lot better in person they are black powdercoated with a machined face but the face kind of gives the rims a optical effect that throws them off.
