i pulled a check engine light....and i know why and fixed and all of that...but how do you get it to go away? i thought you just had to disconnect the battery and re hook it back up to get rid of it...someone please chime in :lol:

What code you getting? If there's a real problem it won't go away until its fixed ;-)

i did fix it....i'm pulling a vacumm leak i think code 1299

b/c when i hooked my old shit up i tried runnin my 60mm tb and the bellow tube fell off while taking it for a test drive....which causes the cel and i since put all my stock stuff on and now everything is working....

the cel should go away if you reset the ecu, if it doesnt its very likely the leak isnt fixed.

how do you reset the ecu? unhook the battery for 5 minutes?

actually if im not mistakin after 5 good starts it resets itself dont it?

usually its a good 15mins, you can pull the fuel pump relay (same thing as disconnecting the battery, relay powers the pcm)

go to the fuse box, theres a fuse wich a yellow "thingy" to pull it out, thats the pcm fuse.

leave it that way for mmm an hour (why take chances?) done :D

Vacuum leak codes just take some time to go away, even after the ECU is reset. I had a very similiar thing happen...my stock bellows tube was leaking. I fixed it, reset the ECU, and it still took it awhile to go away. But it did.
