Will 9 bolts suffice?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Will 9 bolts suffice?

Post by garfield3887 » Mon Nov 14, 2011 5:59 pm

So I just installed a 1st gen VC I bought a couple weeks ago, when putting the bolts in, one of the front ones snapped off clean in the head.

Apparently red bull gives you wings and super human strength...

Will the 9 that didn't snap be enough? I did this during an oil change, so I cranked it up for a bit and didn't notice any leakage in the area, but of course idle won't throw a lot of oil around.

I'm sure someone's done this before...

If it doesn't start leaking, then 9 will do.

I broke two, one of the back, one on the front and no leaks from what I can see or smell.

Thanks for the feedback! I've put around 50 or so miles on it so far and no problems yet!
