Cluster self test

Post by garfield3887 » Fri Nov 18, 2011 11:40 am

Lately, when I start the car, my cluster goes through the self test where all the needles shoot up and then hit certain points before settling to where they should be. What's causing this?

The car first did it when I got it, and I replaced the battery cause the original battery was still in there and on its last leg. The battery I have now is only about a year and a half old if that![/list]

That happens when the battery is weak. If the battery doesn't have enough CCA when trying to start the car like it should, it will cause the needles to sweep.

Mine is doing this as well. I trickle charge it overnight and it's good for a week or two, and then it starts acting up again.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...
