Porting Advice? *Pics*

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Porting Advice? *Pics*

Post by Notanexit92 » Sun Nov 20, 2011 12:16 pm

Well after doing hours and hours of research and getting all the tools needed, this is the result of about 10 hours of non-stop porting. I know it's still alittle rough, as I have not even started using the sanding rolls yet.

But I was wondering is there anything else I could do that you see here? I think I can raise the roof alittle higher maybe?

Any advice would be grateful.

^^ That dip just at the exit on the lower side, is an anti-reversion dip that I was told is beneficial

I've made them all to where I can slide my thumb in and it's just snug enough to move in and out

That dip isn't necessary, you'd be better off without it. Post up on neons.org, there are a lot more people doing port work over there.

I did a slight port job on a Magnum head. I didn't spend much time on it so it just came out alright. You can remove some of the hump just not all of it.

Here are a few pics. I need to get some better ones.

This was a standard non-magnum head I did last year.

This is a DOHC head I did.

This is one I did several years ago and blended in the valve guides.
