Cracked magnum intake manifold...anyone close able TIG weld?

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Cracked magnum intake manifold...anyone close able TIG weld?

Post by D-Railed_Neon » Tue Nov 22, 2011 4:14 pm

OMAHA NE don't know how or why but pretty severe crack developed across all four runners where they meet the mounting plate. I will post pics later today but was wondering if there is anyone within a 1.5-2hr radius of Omaha, that might be able to repair it. I figure we got enough people here that are experienced welders that it might be worth a shot.

Thanks guys

Prolly why if I ever get around to installing mine, I will spend the $11 for the bracket that's supposed to go under there.

I have a buddy that tig welds, I can ask him if he'd be interested in handling it for you. If you can show some pics too that'd be great.

Ill get some pics up. I know shipping would suck so I would only be sending him the top portion of the manny. Unless anyone has just the upper portion in good shape they'd sell cheap, or possibly trad+cash. Either way I will get some photos up tonight. Thanks everyone.

The one I have is broken completely in two pieces, but it came from a wrecked car. I'm currently porting the inside of it first then I'm gonna weld it back together. Kinda works out good with it being broke cause I can get down in it further to port it.

If you can't find anyone to fix it let me know. My mom lives in Omaha and is coming down in 2 weeks. I could get her to bring it with her and I could fix it while she is here so she could take it back.
