Tein vs BC Coilovers

Post by Public Disturbance » Mon Nov 28, 2011 2:06 pm

Which one is better these are the ones Im looking at but I find more information about the BC anyone have a link to them?

http://www.andysautosport.com/dodge/200 ... 20410.html

Will the BC coilovers perform about the same and will they allow me to go a little lower?

I think the BCs or Megans will without a doubt allow you to get lower than the Tein Basics.

nice thing about bc is if you blow them its 100 bucks a strut and stocked in the usa. so the down time is less and the cost to fix is less. my k sports if i blow one is 240 a shock. and i have to wait 3 weeks to get it. I would think the teins wait and replacement cost would be like my k sports. If i wouldn't have gotten a killer deal on my k-sports i would have gotten bc's. megans are a cheaper version of bc's but still made by the same place bc is. plus bc, megan and k sport go the lowest

just buy Megans. Not sure why everyone wants BCs. Megans are cheaper and damn near identical. Neither come with rear camber plates and are both 32 way dampening adjustable. People say the BCs are built better, but the justifications given don't add up to making them that much better in my opinion. I bought mine from ebay from the vendor with the cheapest price that had good feedback.

yeah but how much is it to get a blown shock replaced on the megans? thats the one thing i like about bc's. and they fact that you can custom order them with different spring rates and shock body setups, ect

Modern JUST had a "flash sale" on BC products. "Like" them on Facebook and you will see the deals they do.

I would get everything else set up before worrying about stiffer springs (full prothane bushing kit, upgraded sways, etc)

sway bars yes, but I think bushings are like icing on a cake and should come after coil/struts.

I did mine at the same time. I wasnt trying to say get bushings before coilovers, i was trying to say that he should have full suspension set up in place before getting stiffer springs ( get bc coilovers with standard springs and then get heavier springs later if needed). If he gets the springs dialed in, then adds a bushing set or thicker sways it will bork the balance. I think you have a fair bit of adjustability with the dampers on the bc anyway (I only have experince with the bc though)

I was going to do it all at the same time, coilovers, sway bars, poly bushings, strut bars

BC Coilovers
Poly Bushing Kit from ModernPerformance
Eibach 24mm Front Sway 22mm Rear
DC Front and Rear Strut Bars

I cant do the sways until I get the coilover my SE doesnt have the rear factory bar so there is no way I could mount it until then
