Need help re-wiring my Reverse Lights in an MTX swapped

Post by Tam » Mon Jan 02, 2012 12:42 pm

Hey, you guys should remember when I got my car mtx swapped a while ago. I've never cared for solving how to re-wire reverse lights, but I need to get inspected / brake tag, so I need to fix it now lol.

I've actually spent all day yesterday trying to solve it, and compared them to my dad's ATX neon's wires, and connected them accordingly, but it still didn't work.

Pics of my dad's ATX wires that goes into the tranny: (It's the orange/black wire + the black/white wire)

I labeled them with numbers so that it's easier to distinguish.

From the Car
1) Teal-ish wire -
2) Orange/black wire +

3) Purple wire -
4) White wire +
5) Black wire -

From the Tranny Plug
6)Purple wire
7)White wire

I've tried almost every combination of these. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong area? Maybe my plug is bad? Can someone point me in the right direction?

Should be able to connect the VT/BK and the white wires. Possibly the fuse 7 is blown, or the lights are bad.

You should be able to jump the VT/BK wire from the harness to 12 volt + and get the lights to illuminate. If they don't either the wiring to the rear is bad, the ground in the trunk is bad or the lights are burn't out.

Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.
