Nice score. Even if you can't get them to work, you should still install them, and also paint the outside portion of the mirrors, while leaving the base black.

If they are 02 or older, you will need to swap the connectors for yours.... if they're newer, they're direct swap. it's that simple.

The 6-disc-changer should work, too. I installed a 4-disc-dash on my 00 (older version of plugs on the radio but think there won´t be an electrical difference), then I changed the changer ( ) to a 6-disc-dash out of an SRT, no problems.
Remind that you could install a trunk-disc-changer anyway. I had one (and this is 6-disc), first, but I don´t like to stop for changing the discs.
Most important is to have the right cable...

What´s about the mirrors ?

Will swap mine, too. The worst on the non-folding is the missing heating. Does anyone know if the wiring for heating has to be added or is it still present ?

In the states, 02 or 03 + (not sure which) they did away with heated mirrors on the power ones. I'm pretty sure the wiring is not there since the connector is different anyway.

Does anyone have a pix of the side mirrors actually folded up? I have searched but have never found any pics of them actually folded up. Also will I need a new module to activate the mirrors. I have an extra button on my other car that has folding mirrors. There is currently none on my Neon.

Those are manaul folding mirrors. enless you got them from the uk or over seas.
No us or canada neons got power folding mirrors. The one you got are powered but only the glass is powered and moves. The mirrors themselfs don't power fold in or out.

You can get the true power folding mirrors and the switch panel from overseas but you need a contact to source them out and ship them over to you.

Wow, that sucks. I bought them thinking they would fold in like my BMW mirrors. Also doesn't look like the plugs are the same as the 05 SXT. The SXT are white these are grey and bigger. So they won't work either way I guess.

then the ones you got are 02 or older like I said... just swap the connectors, not a big deal. I'm sure we all wish they were power folding mirrors like your BMW but that's a lot to ask for from a sub $15,000 econo car

Cut / splice wires. They're all the same color, so just slap your old connector on. Or take it to the BMW techs, because why would ANYONE do that much work for some mirrors you've got to PUSH IN BY HAND?!

Well the mods have slowed a bit but I have been really buying stuff. I have a few pics I took today just to show what the car will not look like next week. I have the skirts and bumper being done now. Should be done by wednesday. I am going for a tasteful mod. Nothing to outstanding. I have been thinking about an engine swap but maybe in the summer. Maybe a sebring or some other 2.4 liter.

Check it out so far with the new hood. Mirrors this week sometime.

Well, I picked up my Neon today from the body shop. I bought an SRT4 bumper (had it painted PS2). The body shop called me and asked me what I wanted to "shave" off to make the bumper fit. I was kinda shocked and told him not to shave anything off. Now I don't have an SRT4 but an SXT 2005. It is my daily and I am considering a swap in the future. I have an SRT4 hood along with my SRT4 front bumper. I thought it would be a straight install. Well I don't have fogs yet so I don't need the srt4 water bottle yet. The right side of the car in the pick seems to be pushing against something. The shop also was not able to put the foam back on the bumper. Gee I thought these were a straight bolt on. Can someone tell me what I need to remove (other than the water bottle) to get the bumper flush? Here are some pics.

Repaired cross piece.

mirrors look good painted!

it might be pressing against the resonator box in the bumper... Never thought of this since 99% of folks replace it with a CAI. Take the bumper off and remove that contraption from inside there. Keep the elbow that comes out of the airbox with the temp sensor but remove everything below that.

The SRT-4 comes stock with an airbox and an elbow, but no resonator. The resonator serves no useful purpose, other than noise reduction.

Thank you all for those suggestions. I'll take that reso out this week and the water bottle too. I removed the hose to the hood when I put the hood on. I will get a bottle and then hook it back up. I love the bumper, just need some fogs and grill and air ducts.

once you remove the resonator and put the srt washer bottle in the bumper will fit and you can put the foam behind the bumper back on. you should have the foam there. ppl may say it does nothing in an accident but then why would it be there factory..

Thanks a23dranger. I am removing those items this week and I also have found a rear srt4 bumper. I have some issues from the body shop though. They put the mirrors on and now my alarm and locks don't work properly. I told them not to put the mirrors on, I wanted to put them on myself but the guy was very nice. Everything is working backwards. When I hit the lock button it unlocks and vice versa. Also the alarm doesn't lock the doors now. Tough to find the bumper grill and air ducts though.

Well, I spent a very relaxing day at the junk yard. I had a very interesting weekend with Silver-Shadow. I removed the washer bottle and the resonator box. Both were very easy. However getting the pump out was kinda tough so I left it in. Once I get an SRT4 washer bottle I’ll use it again. The resonator box was very easy. I think two screws and it was off. You do have to remove the bumper but you don’t have to take the wheels off.

Image
Image
Image

The bumper was painted by a local body shop. The guy was very good and is going to install the side skirts for me. I have some reservation about this though. He mixed up the locks on the Neon so I have to fix that or tell him to fix it. Don’t know if he would make it worse. I think he would be able to take care of it but.. Also I don’t know if I want him drilling into my Neon. Hell I don’t want to drill into Silver-shadow. He said he would buff out the hood too. There are some spots on it that don’t look good.

Image
Image

The gaps are truly there. However from pics I have seen of SRT4s the gap is normal. I think if I tighten up the screws on the sides and maybe adjust the hood I may be able to close the gap somewhat. Not that bothered by it right now though. It got dark so the pics are not that good. Tomorrow I pick up an srt4 rear bumper. I’ll put it on and hopefully get the skirts on this week and complete that part of the mods. The grill is another story. I saw one on eBay from customgrills.com for about 40 bucks. I know one member had recommended them. Haven’t decided yet but I need to cover up those two gaping holes. Fogs seem to be difficult. However I did find some on eBay. I would rather have the OEM fogs though. Since this is an SXT it does not have the harness so I’ll need that too.

While I was at the JY I came across a Dodge Stratus 2.7. This was a really nice car at one time. Interior was till in tack and it had the 4 disc cd changer in it. Looked in really good condition. I took it out and found the wiring I needed for my 6 disk cd changer. My 6 disc changer I haven’t installed because it has a round connecter. Well the one in the Stratus has the square connector I needed. When I got home I unplugged it and it fit perfect. Next I’ll try to connect it to my stock radio.

Well not to far to go to get the exterior mods done.

Took a few pixs today. Guy who said he would sell me the srt4 bumper for 150.00 lied to me. I called him t his afternoon and he said he would sale me the bumper. I specifically asked him not to sell it to anyone else. Well this was at 2pm. About 3pm this asshole called me and said he sold the bumper to someone who offered him 250.00 and was sorry. At first I was shocked that someone could so easily break there word., Second I was mad as helll. I didn't know how to react. I just said goodbye. This person was a craigslist.org poster and lead me top believe he would be selling me the bumper. Well he called me and said he sold it for more money. What a lier, cheat, ahole,

Dude, that's life. If I was offering to sell and someone called and offered $100 more on whatever it was I was selling and was going to come get it NOW, I'd certainly sell. Hell, I consider him a legitimate dude because he even called you, was honest, and apologized. Most craigslist "aholes" don't even do that.

^That is very true....but who knows, maybe that was a good thing that happen and something better will present itself. -Saying that, i think the low point is the fact he didnt call you and see if you could counter offer, atleast that way you could of understood where he was coming from. Best of luck next time and also cool log, be cool to see how it will turn out.

Well, I finally got a grill on Silver-Shadow. It looks really good. I still may think about an OEM one though (if they are available). I like the silver grill though. Fog lights are in but they don't work. I need a switch for them. The scoops look good. I think they need to be screwed in a bit more though. The fog surrounds I may get from a body shop guy who has some discounts. Other than that the next big mods are an exhaust and rear bumper.
The shop that put the mirrors on screwed up the door locks somehow. Anyone know anything about door locks pm me.

Now some pics I did today.
