Post by Public Disturbance » Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:20 am

Ok guys I'm going to be doing my 5spd conversion on my 2.0 using just your standard 3.55 t350 but down the road I'm doing a 2.5l SOHC(2.4 punched +.020") with a srt4 block will my t350 bolt up and work until I can find a t850

Need to change a few things.

Shim plate between block and trans
flywheel
starter
slave cylinder is a tad diff.

Basically all stuff you will already have from your 2.0 so you should be all set.

honestly, you might wanna consider the possibility of just sticking with the t350 because of how, according to myself and others, it shifts smoother

Alright worse case is it blows up and then I can always swap in the t850 would be easy since it's a srt block

I think you would need the shim plate for the T850, otherwise the starter would not line up to the t350. I think chew was listing the stuff you would need include with the t850 for future reference. .

You would want the t350 flex plate, clutch, etc, just like you were using the 2.0. The t850 clutch will not fit in the t350 bell housing. AFAIK, they both have the same bolt pattern, engine to trans. Just the starter location, and slave are different for the t850.

Both the 31th and the 41/40te are bolt ons to the 2.4.

A simpler way to look at it is: You just need the hardware from the desired transaxle to make it function.

Wouldnt you want the 2.0 shim plate so the starter lines up with the t350 so basically there wouldn't be any differences between putting the t350 behind a srt block then it would a 2.0

Any tips to building the t350

dont need to change the starter as it bolts to the bellhousing. use the 2.0 stater even with your 2.4 block

use your 2.0 shim on the 2.4 block so it lines up with your stater and bolts

im using the stock slave w/ a 3.94 bolted to my srt motor

also use a t350 clutch, not a t850 as it wont fit you bellhousing/starter

^^^this. im running the exact same setup w/ a clutchmasters stage 3 clutch on a complete bolt-on srt swap and have had no issues.

other than the fact that 1st gear sucks since its so short so i usually launch from second and only use first in small areas like parking lots and such.

deffinitely a clutch for when you go boost. for the time being a stock one will do buit since your gonna be in there....

quafie is $$$ but would be bad ass and an aluminum flywheel is another "if you got the cash while your in there..." deal

AXLES! i would suggest upgrading them specially aftrer seeein your hp goals. if you can buy em now do it otherwise when you get the boost goin you can either keep replacing stock ones after a few hard launches... or spend the money for some quality ones you can count on.

Well clutch masters non modular clutch and aluminum flywheel are going in for sure when the swap the mtx in. Quafie and some dss axles will go in when the 2.5L SOHC magnum turbo goes in
