Electrical Schematic Question

Post by keeper1016 » Thu Jan 26, 2012 10:02 am

Hey all,

I am installing a trunk light and trunk release to my 2003 SE. Here is a picture of my schematic:
Image

The leftmost trunk light circuit, I have a 5mm green led from Radio Shack I want to install up front. Will the LED's resistor cause dimming problems on the main trunk light(906 bulb)?

Second, I'm having trouble figuring out the fuse amp ratings I should use. Possibly 5 for light, 5 for trunk release button and 10 for solenoid circuit?
(If you click on the picture, you will be able to see the details.)

Thanks in advance for the help!

Chris

Thank you for the views! I went ahead and installed it according to my schematic. It works great! I had read on here where Occasional Demons suggested running the circuits through the stock fuse box to give it a stock look. I liked that so I ran with it. I used a junction block at the front to send power to the LED and I spliced it's ground to the trunk light's ground. I'll put some pictures up here later.

Yup, you were correct in the led wiring. Since you ran in in parallel to the bulb, you didn't experience any dimming. Running in series, however, would have created a voltage drop, dimming the bulb.
