Sunroof not closing at the rear

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

Sunroof not closing at the rear

Post by NitroHeadz » Fri Feb 03, 2012 8:23 pm

I recently bought a 02 R/T, I'm not currently driving it (waiting for Spring) but every few day's I go out and warm it up.....

The last few days have been really mild so I decided to open the Sunroof just to keep everything moving, apparently that was a bad idea :cussing:

As I was closing the Sunroof I heard a click, and now, the Sunroof closes but not all the way.

Front of the Sunroof drops and sits flush the way it's supposed to but the Rear Passenger side corner will not drop flush.....it looks like there is some kind of Pin that guides the Rear of the Sunroof down into locking position.

But for some reason it's not catching?

Can someone help, anyone that might have had this issue?
I have searched 2Gen & NC but can't find an exact solution to my problem :banghead:

Thanks in advance, I'd really like to fix this before the Snow or Rain comes back

While not exactly the same problem, there are some similarities. No good answers tho. But possibly a solution to get it to shut.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.

Thanks man, I guess I'll just try and take it apart as carefully as I can and figure it out....

Muahahaha, I fixed it

Really easy actually, there is 2 Polished Pins that hold together the Actuating system that locks the Glass down.....they had slipped almost all the way out.

So, if this ever happens to you....

-Remove the 6 Screws holding the Glass in place
-Remove the Glass (carefully!)
-Use some Pliers to push the Polished looking Pins in flush

(If you're Pin's have slipped you will know as soon as you take off the glass, they are very shinny and they stick out like a sore thumb)

I didn't get pictures because I did all this in the dark, but it's pretty straight forward once the Glass is off.

Hope this helps someone, CHEERS!
