Automatic to Manual conversion

Post by Fascien217 » Sat Feb 04, 2012 11:10 am

Hey guys, I'm looking for any and all imputes on converting my 3spd automatic transmission to a 5 spd manual. It is an '02 ES model. So far no upgrades to the engine, though I hope to do an SRT swap at some point. The transmission is starting to go, so the question is how much is it going to run me, and is anyone whose done this before willing to share their knowledge?

You mean like a how-to? You may want to check out the stickies in the how-to section. Just sayin.

While that thread is geared towards the 2003-up NGC cars, the basic info is the same. All you need to do is use the search button. It works wonders.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

id say if u get used parts maybe from 600-1000 bucks. you are gonna need
-mtx trans
-shift cables+bushings
-pedals
-clutch hydraulics
-new skimmed pcm
-mtx axles
-clutch assembly
-and maybe a mtx trans mount
- and i think u gotta add in the clutch interlock switch also and reverse lights
thats everything i can think of off the top of my head lol
