Found a new rust spot to watch out for.

As most now know the rear quater fenders like to rust. But now I noticed, on more than one Neon, a huge rust area. If you are standing at the front of the car, open the hood and look on the left side of the exhaust tunnel right off of the firewall. Looks like to panels were stitched together and they rust pretty heavily over time. I saw one car at the junk yard where it had a fist sized hole. Probably not a good thing. I looked on mine and yep, it's rusting pretty good.

My 03 is super clean and when i bought it back in 08the it already had some rust on that spot on the firewall. I plan on doing something with it while the engine is out

Ya my '01 had some rust there and my '03 does now too, nothin serious but if it was left unchecked it would become serious. Seems like its only about a 2 inch section of the seam that starts rusting.

I looked up at my sunroof recently and noticed that all four corners around the plexiglass are rusting. And this car has hardly ever been driven in snowy weather.
