Quick question about udp's

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Quick question about udp's

Post by pocket ace » Tue Feb 14, 2012 10:35 am

Are there any differences between a udp for a 2.0 for neon, 2.4 l for pt gt and srt4 and 2.4l stratus and cirrus motors. I'm almost certain they can all use the same udp but I want make sure I don't buy a wrong one

My application applies to a stratus 99 motor so if it's specific that's what I'm looking for.

Thanks for any help guys.

The main difference is whether there is a V belt, or a poly V belt. The 1st gen style have one V groove in the pulley.

So will any 2.4 pt , pt gt, srt4, or stratus cirrus Udp work on a stratus 2.4, nevermind the 2.0 neon ones , I have looked at a few pulleys and I want to make sure I buy the right one.

IDK if the 2.4's used the V belt also, you just want to match the belt style more than anything else. The 2.0 and the 2.4 use the same part. It just depends on the belt set up.

My intention is to run my 2.0 alternator and 2.0 power steering, so will an SRT or pt gt udp work those, or are they different.

As long as the pullys are made for the flat belt, it will be fine. Most UDP's are sold as the 2.4 style for the wider belt. The narrower belt works just fine. (4 groove vs 5 groove)
