Most male Neon owners on this forum give their cars female names.
Most female Neon owners on this forum give their cars male names.

I suggest "Brad" for the car's name

I see you're in Hagerstown. I'm in Pasadena and another user Haganracing lives in Frederick.

Only thing I dont like are the plans for the black hood and projector/halo lights. I say just get a set of black housing headlights are rock them.

DodgeEvo: Thanks! I wish we had HTML abilities, it would look MUCH better :).

theColonel: I was honestly thinking of a female name for it, but also knew that most chicks give their cars male names. Call me a nerd, but I was going to try a good god-themed name.. not as in today's gods, but like a powerful Greek or Roman god.. you know, the ones that kicked butt :D. Not dissing today's religion and gods, I'm catholic :p.

INVUJerry: I'll take a look at them. If they look better, I'd certainly want to do with that. I have the whole car pictured in my head, I wish I could just draw it or something

There's a photoshop request section you could post in and ask someone to make something up for you to give you ideas.

Hers what my Srt looks like with the 01 rt bumper, Chrysler grill, carbon hood, and black housing headlights.

Be sure to make it to Chryslers at Carlisle in July!

Btw, save yourself a huge headache and get your timing belt/water pump and belt tensioner changed soon if it hasn't already been done.

And thanks, I love the car to death. The sale finalizes soon though :(.

That was the first thing on my list, after some minor things.. like there's a tail light out. I know the engine is an interference engine, so if there's any moderate wearing I'm definitely changing them. As for selling it, I hope you part with it well :(. I don't like Sunfires and I even feel like I'm betraying mine.. but I am sort of dumping it on my dad, rather than selling it. Are you going to buy another/newer Neon?

Here's some names I'm considering:..

POSEIDON: God of the sea and earthquakes. Could calm waves or create terrible storms, and used his powers as fear or punishment 8-[

KRONOS/CRONUS: A titan, father of Zeus.

HYPERION: Titan, father of the lights of the heavens (Eos, Helios, and Selene)

I'm selling it and getting a 95 neon coupe in a partial trade that's going to be my daily for a while. I've had 2 2gns and 4 1gns so far lol. This will be the first time I've never had a 2gn since 2005 lol.

The sohc motor is definately an interference motor. I've learned the hard way twice lol.

Awesome ! It's neat that you have (or you've had) so many. This will be my first Neon, but definitely not my last ;)

That looks like a SRT rear section on there, or is it just me?

Oh yeah, nice lookin R/T, so crazy how most R/Ts remain clean to this day.

Is it the exhaust that is not an R/T exhaust or is it the rear bumper? I'll add it to the list :). I wonder if the person before me replaced it on purpose, for looks, or an accident.. hopefully the first option :)

It's the exhaust, possibly just from your rear axle back, or it might be the whole thing. Some people like a loud exhaust (loud is an understand with a SRT rear section though) The tips are a tad bit more spread on a SRT rear section, as well as bigger tips. It's pretty noticeable difference with a SRT exhaust, they are LOUD!

If you like it keep it, if it's too loud swap it with a R/T exhaust, which are pretty hard to find these days, Magnaflow makes a good dual exit alternative though.

I added a Moroso SpiralFlow muffler to my SRT-4 to quiet it down ... they're relatively inexpensive, but you have to add it into the midpipe (requires cutting & welding).

The car is pretty quiet for the exhaust it has.. my dad noticed it was a large exhaust for the car, but I can't say that it's loud at all. So, maybe they already used something to quiet it? Or.. something is wrong with it.. heh.

I just checked our time clock, no Kronos on there, maybe that's why I still like it :p

See, I like all three of them.. because I chose them . I'll have to drive it a few times and get a feel for it, probably. Hopefully it'll just come to mind and I'll just know.. like an epic movie. But I have issues making decisions so probably not :D

If it is quiet, then possibly the PO had SRT tips welded onto an aftermarket dual outlet muffler, or the factory R/T muffler, and they didn't do a good job of getting them in the right place, or the muffler is too wide to get them centered in the cut outs.

Without a good (well lit ) underside pic, it is anyone's guess.

Some pics for reference...

Thanks for the reference! I'll look ASAP. I didn't crawl under but my dad did, and although he's a mechanic I know more about a Neons than he does (and I'm not even close to an expert, so this is new and fun for us both ), so all he had to say about it is that it looked like someone put an exhaust on, and that it was long and went "really far back".

It's undergoing axle/power steering rack repairs at the moment, but it should be good to go tomorrow.
