trouble installing pt tranny in neon
Ok im doing the 2.4 swap and I found it easier to install the engine first and try to install tranny next. Problem Engine installed fine but when trying to install tranny the tranny mount kept hitting the frame of the car and would not fit. I think it is because i bought the mount off of ebay and that its not true to its dimensions. Any suggestions please. My car is a 2000 dodge neon and Im using the 2000 dodge neon manual tranny mount that was bought from ebay.

Did you try putting the mount into the frame first, then starting the bolts into the MTX?
I'm assuming the MTX is currently attached to the engine...

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

Yeah you may be right, I can't recall exactly if they were totally blocked by the frame rail.chipdogg wrote:You can try that but I don't think it'll be easy to start the bolts since the frame will probably be in the way. At least in 1st gens I have to drop the trans down a few inches in order to access the bolts.
You could try removing the upper mount from the frame, raise the trans, and try to get the bolt through the frame and into the mount, and bolting the mount back to the frame. IDK if that is going to be any easier or not. :/
This almost makes me glad I spent the ~$70 for the Mopar replacement part.

I bought it from a dealer that sold parts on line, in Washington State. They are now gone, due to Chrysler's restructuring. That was prolly 5 years ago also. Yeah, they are stupid expensive.

Do you have all the motor mounts unbolted or still attached. Also any pictures of said mount or the fitment issues. You can put the trans on afterwards. I've done it a bunch in 2gns and I've done both trans bolted to the 2.4 installed in my car and the motor first then trans next with my 2.4 in my 02 rt. Which btw also running a pt 3.94
