tweeter or not to tweeter? and multi amp ?????
currently i have infinity reference speakers all the way around, 6.5 up front with the tweeter in the middle and 6 by 9's on the deck (3 ways). the fronts handle 60 rms and the rears handle 100 rms, so i was thinking of buying some tweeters for the dash, but seeing as i already have 6 in the car excluding the ones in the dash, what should i do? should i replace them with new tweeters, keep the stockers, or clip them out of the system? and i was also thinking of amping the power on the 4 speakers, so i was thinking of going with a 4 channel amp that runs 50 by 4 rms at 4 ohms? what do u guys think?
first: what ohms are your infinity front door speakers?.. im assuming 4ohms
2nd: did you disconnect the stock tweeters when you installed the new door speakers?
if not, your not getting the most outta your door speakers.
stock tweets = 8ohms
stock doors = 8ohms
giving you 4ohms for each front channel
stock tweets = 8
new door spkrs = 4
giving you 2.667ohms per each front channel
most decks are not designed to handle this load...
amping: id just amp the front, and leave the rear alone... or get 2 seperate amps so you can match the 100rms needed for the rear, and the 50rms needed for the front..
only suggestions though..... maybe someone else w/ a better sound setup than me can chime in, since ive only got my sub amped so far...

if the infin's in your door are 4ohms, then yes, pop your dash, and clip the wires to the stock tweets.. i put some kickers in my door and wasnt impressed, then found the ohms diff, clipped my stock tweets out, and sounded much better.. but the main reason to clip them out, is to run 4 ohms, almost all decks cant handle the 2.etc ohms and will burn the internal amp out quick.......p8ntballah413 wrote:seeing as my stock tweeters are still connnected, are u suggesting that i just disconnect them so i get more out of 6.5" infinities in my doors?
