Lighting Wiring Question

Post by Xployted77 » Fri Feb 24, 2012 10:51 am

I want to wire my extra lights I have mounted on the front of the car into the light switch so they come on when I turn my lights on, instead of a seperate toggle switch. As you can see in the pic they are the lower lights on the front bumper. has anyone else done this, and is it something that is run into the fuse for the lights or something different. Im tired of the toggle switch thing and just want to make life a bit eaiser. Thank you for your time and help.

You can either slpice into the park or headlight circut depending when you wanted them to be on which you can do cheap quick and easy with scotch locks or a reall splice and solder it with heat shrink but if you have normal hids and stock hoousings and dont have high beams you can do what i did (check out my progress log tommrow ill post it)

If you are going to splice into the oem wiring, use that to power a relay, and the relay to switch the lights. Otherwise you may end up with smoke coming from the steering column. MFS switch/connector/wiring do not like any additional load. They even occasionally fry with the stock equipment...
