question about throttle bodys
Ok I just dropped in my pt engine swap in my 2000 Dodge neon and I ran into a problem that I didn't notice before hand. My problem Is I am using a srt4 intake manifold and throttle body. The throttle body doesn't have the iac installed yet because i need to buy one. I found the iac but its a 2 wire from what it looks like to me and my 2000 harness uses a 4 wire. So I was wondering can I modify a srt4 iac into a manual adjusting iac. I own one from Modern performance but its to small for the throttle body. My second idea was to buy the mpx 60mm 95-99 neon throttle body and I think it will bolt right to the srt4 intake manifold and I could use my mpx manual iac for it. I dont want to install ms so does anybody have any ideas or solutions ?

Just wondering if the IAC from a 2000 TB will fit into the SRT TB? They are similar in looks/style, but IDK if they are actually the same size or not, Not having either to actually compare... just something I have wondered about.
The '00 is a stepper motor, and the SRT/'01 up 2.0 are PWM solenoids.
The other option you can do, is get an IAC adapter from Modern for the 60mm TB, and make a remote mount IAC, sort of like what I have, but for the '00 type IAC. An adapter from a Jeep TB may also work, but would take some fabbing.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.

Yeah I read on another forum that the iac for the 2000 neon is smaller than a srt 4 throttle body iac port. Can mpx 60mm be used on the srt4 manifold? http://www.modernperformance.com/product/171/494occasional demons wrote:Just wondering if the IAC from a 2000 TB will fit into the SRT TB? Not really sure on the 1gn TB. You will need to wait for someone to chime in. The 2gn TB, you would need an adapter of some sort.
You could just use this: (Part on the left)
and tap the holes to use hose barbs, and use your '00 IAC where ever you want to. Just plumb it to the IM after the TB, and the inlet after the air filter.
You would need to block the hole in the SRT TB tho.

You prolly would have to call them, and see if they would sell it separately. I don't see why they wouldn't. It's not like they have to sell it with a TB, it is just an option. A sale is a sale...
