I think the main objective was to cut weight. As long as there are no overheating issues, it is a win, but for other than drag racing, the fan running more often may outweigh any gains. You still need a filler panel or flaps, to keep from recirculating hot air, when not moving.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

I never ran filler panels on my 98 with the half rad and never had any issues, other than when I didn't have a rad fan installed and had to turn the heat on at the 09 TMI shoot!
I'll be honest though there's no real gain with it other than it looking neat with a tiny rad. With my .040" over motor my fan almost never turns on with a full size rad.

Is that with a stock t'stat, or a cooler one? I know my fan kicks on a fair amount in the summer months. But then, it all comes down to how accurate the temp sender is.
On the Jeep the A/C fan will kick on, if it does get warm enough. (I have removed the engine driven fan) In winter that rarely happens.
