revlimiter/stalling problem

Post by honda_zman » Mon Mar 05, 2012 8:05 pm

first of all i've read and google searched all over. 2001 neon i had a lot of problems with sensors when i first got it, i replaced the iacv and tps. at 102k miles i did the timing belt and water pump and upgraded the cam to a crane #12 shorty header srt catback and cia. car is now at 112 miles and the headgasket went so i took the head in and got it checked out... its fine. got a new gasket and new studs new plugs and a jeep oilfilter and oilchange. put it back together and whamo it wont' stay ruing on its own withought me feathering the gas. :cussing: it spits and spuders under a load and wont go over a cenrtin rpm withough hiting what feels like a revlimiter. i went and got it scanned it says map and iacv..... what are your thoughts??!?!?! i have less than three weeks till my baby girl is born and i'm out of patients

It could be your cam sensor. They are common to go bad I was told. I had the same symptoms once. I couldn't go over 2500 to 3000 rpm. Changed it and it was solved. Never hurts to check it out.
