00-02 vs 03-05 side view mirror ?

not sure if everyone is aware but they are two different plugs for the power mirrors... the 03-05 has a 3 wire plug and the 00-02 have a 5 wire plug.... two extra black wires.. i already pulled these folding mirrors off a car at the JY, anybody know for sure if i can splice the 03-05 plug to the 00-02 mirrors? if so what the eff do i do with the 2 extra black (ground?) wires?

IIRC, there is a little defrost symbol engraved if they are?

That thread will show the wire pin out for both styles so you can cut and splice.

Ah yeah... I didn't even think of that.. I was just so stoked to find unbroken folding mirrors in the JY... I didn't even notice if they had the little defrost eching on them.. Thanks guys.. And thanks for the link Dante.

And if your mirrors are heated, just tap them into your rear defroster circuit and enjoy the added convenience

I spliced the 03+ onto my 02, but I must have done it wrong because now down is up and up is down.

Somebody hit the same mirror yesterday, so now I gotta replace it for the 2nd time.
