want to put a hitch on my car

Alright. I own a 2005 neon SXT. 5 Speed manual. Rear mods include SRT exhaust and R/T bumper cover. I want to put a hitch on it that would suffice to tow an 18 foot sail boat weighing aprox. 650 pounds. The trailer itself weighs 290 pounds. What kind of hitch receiver should I look into buying?

A class one receiver is good to 2000 lbs gross trailer weight, and 200 pounds on the tongue weight.

That is about as much as you would ever want to attach to your neon anyways.

No longer sold tho. IDK if it could be sourced tho. A dealer would have to do a search. Possibly some dealer is stuck with one somewhere...

In germany the neon is officially allowed to tow a 1000 kg trailer with overrunning brake, 450 kg with a trailer without.

Don´t know how much space you have left with your double exhaust and don´t know how well your german is
