No tail lights!

All lights but tail lights are working, I changed the bulbs, and checked every fuse, any ideas?

Chances are the MFS and/or connector is bad.

You may need to pull the column cover off and check the connector. The black/yellow wire from the MFS goes back to the tail lights and the licence light. If the connector looks good (not melted), and there is no power from the BK/YL wire, then the switch is bad. The fuse box in the car, fuse 15 feeds the MFS for the headlights and parking lights. If it was blown you wouldn't have any front lights either.

So if it's that, do I just replace the wire?
And what causes it

That harness is notorious for melting at the MFS. If you have several melted wires, Chrysler sells a replacement kit for it, or you can patch it yourself. I find that sometimes its the MFS thats shorting and causing it to happen.

There's a few "How-To's" online for rebuilding the MFS or you can just purchase a new one.

Dumb question, but what is the mfs and what does it look like. I know my soon tinted his tails, and installed a sub box, but I don't think either would have messed it up

Multi function switch. The headlight/wiper controls. The light and wiper switch are two separate parts tho, you need not buy both.

Well, I found the problem, someone cut the black and yellow wire by the fire wall, hooked it back up, and I got tail lights now! Go to start it and it does, freaking timing belt went out! Arg!!!

What's up Bill what's new?

oldyellerrt - Someone CUT the wires?! Damn. Might need an engine if the timing belt broke, bad news.

I think that is one downfall to our engines. I miss driving my Ford Probe GT for that reason. Anything under 3k rpms wouldnt ruin the engine ... wish these were the same ... lol

Well my wife started it, and it died, i'm hopeful since it wasn't running, it is savable. Then this morning, I go out and get in my Srt, and both back tires I installed last night are flat, so at 5:45 a.m. i'm dog a NASCAR, 2 tire pit stop

It really depends on where the cam was when it broke. Odds are against no valves being bent. You may be replacing 4 valves, two valves, or overall, being cheaper/faster, a rebuilt cylinder head. Plus all the timing/water pump related stuff.

But that stuff is for another thread. I think we have gotten this one far enough OT.
