Question about trunk latch

As for as im concerned my 00 neon didnt come with power anything but i have a few questions because i seen a wire running to the trunk latch and i wanted to know what it was and if the car did have a power trunk. I looked in the glove box and i saw a whole that would look like the place where the power trunk button would be. Please let me know if you guys know anything about this.

What is this wire going to the latch???

The wire is the ground for the trunk light. It grounds via the latch to turn it on/off. The hole I'n guessing the D shaped one? That would be for a glove box light?

the trunk release button is on the driver's side of the glove box when equipped

I just installed a trunk light and release solenoid. I installed a glove box light too. Glove box hole on the right, trunk release hole on the left.

Thats cool you have a wire going to it. You must already have a trunk light.

Wow, never done a how to. I'd consider it a privilege. It'll take me a bit though, cause I have to get some more pictures taken. I'll start working on it, though!
