Comp 400 Cam Magnet

i was installing my new comp 400 this afternoon and went to install my stock cam magnet and it would not fit.. i looked if comp made one and i dont belive they do. if you guys coupld help me id appreciate it

It should bolt right in. My guess is you got a defective cam. Or you are not holding your tongue right?

Got a way to take pics?

It should fit into the bore and the holes should match.

If you have a set of dial/digital calipers, you could measure the bore to see if it is undersize. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to chuck it up in a regular lathe to fix it if that is the case.

If the locating holes are wrong, (did you try spinning it 180º to see if it goes?) then you will have to send it back. Or remove the pins from the magnet, and hope you get it at the correct position.

The pins are not 180º apart. it will only go one way if you were not aware.

If you bought it from a speed shop/online retailer, I would contact them for a replacement. If it is just "new to you" then you are stuck working something out with the person that sold it to you.
