Multifunction Switch Issue

Post by jesses » Fri Apr 06, 2012 1:09 pm

2005 Dodge SX 2.0 Sport w/ fog lights

So basically the multifunction switch is making a relay(?) start tripping(?). Makes this buzzing/clicking noise. It's seems to be the nob, if it is touched/or while driving it will sometimes start and slightly moving it to a sweet spot will stop it. In the parking light mode it is constantly on and if switched to head lights it stops altogether. I have tried 2 multifunction switches bought used and they made it come on no matter where the nob is. So I stuck with the original one. The plug that goes into the switch was melted so I got a new plug and swapped the wires and it still does the same thing. So I am now lost and looking for some help.

Thanks

There's a How-To here, made by Gnuserup IIRC, that will you show you how and what to fix in your MFS.

You can also order a brand new MFS from Rock Auto for like $40.
