Update from day 1. Today we learned the basics. We learned left foot breaking, skid pad control and then applied everything to a basic slalom course and then a more complex gate course. We ended the day learing accident avoidance. We drove euro spec Fiestas all day. Tomorrow we get to drive an audi quattro

I went up with my roomate from college. He didnt' know how to dive a manual before this course and in one day he learned how to drive manual on top of all the driving skills. Aparently it was a little much on one run:

^ here he lifted off the throttle after initiating the turn. He did not counter steer either. End result. He ended up in a ditch and had to wear a pink helmet for the rest of the day.

Well I am back! It was tons of fun and I think i am going to go back to finish up the other three days. I missed out on a lot in the last 3 days of the school. I would totally go back just to learn how to jump a car lol.

Here is my friend showing off the pink helmet.

My friend Dan actually got to pass the helmet off to someone else who also got stuck. Then, 30mins later this happened:

He lost control hit anothe ditch and a dirt mound and managed to flip it on it's side. I was suprised how light the landing was and also how little damage there was to the outside of the car.

At the end of the day we got to try our hand at the Audi 4000S quatro awd. I had to most fun learning the pendulm turns. I could do those all day.

Yeah it's your basic crowd peaser rally trun. Its so weird, you turn right to turn left

. And you are right about WNY winter driving. I used a lot of those techniques playing around in the snow without even knowing.

yeah I am kicking myself right now, a similar licensing class oppertunity came up but, this was is for road course and track racing like the challenge series or amature nascar. Its $2400 for the 5 day course at skip barber in CT at lime rock park. Its normally a $4K course but they had a corporation cancel and they have a massive amount of openings. Bummer is I am on call that whole week and I spent all my money on rally school so I am a little strapped for cash.
