I decided to use a piece of the 1/8" thick x 3/4" wide x 3 FT long flat aluminum I am currently using for my L Brackets in my FX-R projector retrofit.
I began by measuring and dremeling two slots in the side of the 3rd Brake Light housing. The right side was made a little larger as I have the aluminum at a slight angle - this creates tension on it ensuring that it will not slide back and forth while driving.

Next, I measured out the size of aluminum that I wanted, to ensure I had "wings" on both sides of the housing:

My Red 14x LED board:

I then connected the correct adapter that would fit the 194 3rd Brake Light bulb:

Testing the bulbs using a 12V battery to ensure all of the LEDs were properly lighting:

The initial test fit - mounting on top of the flat aluminum. This was easy to center as I run 7 pairs of 2 LEDs, so there were 6 LEDs to the right, 6 LEDs to the left, and two LEDs directly in the center (there are 3 tabs on the bottom of the red lens - align them up with the middle tab).

Lens installed:

The final outcome (I will get night shots this evening!):

Mods, you may use this in the How-To section if you see fit and one does not already exist. Thank you.
