+1
Maybe the difference of darkness in the picture could be attributed to the reflections? We want an answer!

I know the back 3 windows are 5% (limo) honestly dont know % on fronts (it was 2 levels lighter than the 5% for what the guy had with him, it really isnt REAL dark, Crucial is prolly right lol) lol It is illegal here in Michigan, BUT tons of cars here with factory tint much darker than my front windows *shrug*
i talked to a cop here alrdy that i know and he says he doesnt know any of them that worry about tint unless its suspected in the cause of an accident.

either way it looks good. when you get inspected they usually test the tint. not sure your laws over there, but why don't you take it to a state inspection shop & let them meter it

Looks good! I love my tint. Sometimes at night it's kind of dangerous cause mine is so dark that I can't see where I'm turning, and have to roll down my windows if I want to back into somewhere. But man does it look nice.

It looks great. That "factory tint" your talking about only applies to vehicles classified as SUV's, vans, and wagons though. Cars cannot be tinted that dark from the factory. Cars are more restricted than anything else from the factory. My tint is MD legal at 35% all around. I wish we could tint cars legally darker though. Oh well. Looks good though.

The GrandAmGT i bought my ex had MEGA dark tint, was much darker than my front windows and the back window was limo. She had the paper thing from the window from when it was brand new and it said factory tint, unless someone removed that and put on a new tint *shrug*

Well, to be 100% correct, front windows can be tinted to 50%. But no one spends money on that. 50% is just about the same as the factory "tint" on clear glass. It gives it that greenish color to it. It helps block a little bit of UV but thats about it. Its really all it is, is a UV blocker.

The "factory tint" they talk about is about 70%. Its on almost every new car sold. If you look through the windshield and then the side window you can "just" tell the difference. Every window sticker says factory tint. They are not allowed to tint it any darker. Take a white piece of paper to a new car dealer. Try the test I mentioned above. You will see the slight difference. That Grand Am was tinted after it left the factory. Maybe the dealer did it. Sometimes they do. My local Dodge dealer had a grey 2006 Charger in the showroom with MD legal 35% tint. They had it done, it does not come from the factory that way.

Tints are checked during inspections? NY is real anal about this kinda stuff but I don't recall any of my family or friends getting hell because of tints during the inspection. Unless, of course, the guy we all take the cars to looks the other way when it comes to tints.

I'm thinking about getting 15% all around, anyone got a pic of that? I'm not a big fan of the back and front being two different tints.

I can barely see out of 35% at night, or when its raining at night...I can only imagine how bad that would be w/ 15%...you must not have tint laws there

50% is where a tint shop will still give you a certificate of compliance. I cant remember the VC# off hand that says so, but if I think about it later, Ill get my book out and check.
Even if you had 5% front windows, window tint is not a primary cause for initiating a stop. But that doesnt mean you wont run accross a cop who forgot to read that section and pulls you over anyway.
